HealthLINE was created in 1989 with the merger of two existing health science library organizations, the Metroplex Council of Health Sciences Librarians (formed in 1972) and the Dallas-Tarrant County Consortium of Health Science Libraries (1978). HealthLINE, like its founding organizations, continues to provide forums to exchange information.
