Membership

Eligibility

Any individual who works in a health science library or is interested in the field is welcome to join. Institutions desiring membership must meet criteria relating to collection breadth and depth, interlibrary loan cooperation and group participation. For both individuals and institutions there are established levels of membership, depending upon qualifications. The membership year is by the calendar year (January-December).

Benefits

• Professional development and continuing education opportunities
• Professional interaction and personal contact with other health science librarians in the area
• Opportunities to visit other libraries and to become familiar with their collections.
• Promotion of inter-library cooperation in programs, services and resources, including free interlibrary loan among full institutional members.
• Forum for communication with regional and national health library organizations such as the National Network of Libraries of Medicine(NN/LM).

How to Apply

Download or print the HealthLINE brochure, fill out the application and submit as noted on application with your membership dues.

HealthLINE currently has two membership categories for individuals: Regular and Student. Institutions* do not pay dues.

Regular membership

• Annual dues: $15
• Chair HealthLINE committees
• Serve on HealthLINE committees
• Vote in HealthLINE elections
• Hold elected office
• Access the Members Only Section
• Apply for Travel Award

Student membership

• Annual dues: $5

*The official Institutional Member Representative does not pay dues. For more information on Institutional membership, contact the Treasurer, Teresa Hanson.

Membership renewal reminders appear at our quarterly meetings and on the discussion list. Every member is encouraged to strengthen the organization with personal recruiting efforts among colleagues.
