Join us for the first North Texas Serials Workshop at Tarrant County College in Hurst, Texas. The day-long workshop aims to open a discussion between libraries across North Texas about their serials. It is hosted by Krista English (Tarrant Country College), Amy Castillo (Tarleton State University), and Susan Vaughan (University of Dallas).

Morning Session
Serials Holdings & Patterns
The workshop’s morning portion will focus on serials holdings and patterns with particular attention on using CONSER’s guidelines in applying the MARC Format for Holdings (MFHD) and Z39.71 standards. The session will also in-clude a discussion on developing local policies & practices, OCLC local hold-ings records, and dealing with challenging issues (pun intended). Bring your questions and any serials you wish to discuss in more detail.
Afternoon Sessions
Group Roundtable: Challenges and Opportunities
Workshop participants will propose discussion topics that are of interest to the serials community. These may include moving to a more online model, man-aging the serials A-to-Z list, budgeting, and any other requested topics.
ILS Discussions
Workshop participants can use this opportunity to break out into groups based on their ILS, and discuss, problem-solve, or commiserate over serials man-agement within their library’s ILS.
